Shae Acopian DeTar is a life-long artist and style devotee that has of late focused her unique aesthetic on film photography.  For the past 3.5 years she has built a reputation for her whimsical, hand painted photos.

As an artist Shae's work has been featured in the renowned art magazine Juxtapoz and also on Tavi Gevinson's site Rookie Magazine.  Clothing brand Aritzia recently commissioned Shae to style and create a painted photo fashion story for their 2012 collection.  Shae was recognized for her creativity and style and chosen to appear in a COACH Handbags Holiday Blogger Campaign in 2010.  She styles the majority of her own shoots and takes a notably hands-on approach to her work - often building sets as well as processing and developing many of her own prints.

Shae spent her late teens and early 20's as a model with the agencies NEXT, Elite,  & Wilhelmina,  traveling the world and living in London & Milan.   She's appeared in such magazines as Nylon, Elle Japan, Lucky, Flaunt, Ny Mag, Mademoiselle, Gratzia, Seventeen, YM, WWD and Blackbook, etc as well as numerous National tv ad campaigns as an actress.  Shae attended New York City's School of Visual Arts.  She opened and ran her own successful online vintage clothing boutique for 5 years as well as spending time interning for high fashion designer Zac Posen in Manhattan.

Shae grew up in Pennsylvania and NYC and is currently living in the Hollywood Hills with her musician husband Brett and her Chinese Shar Pei rescue dog, Waylon.  Shae's family still lives in NYC and she is often traveling back and forth between New York & Los Angeles.
